month的复数
hello，童靴们好~~我是勇哥。很多同学都觉得“the”不就是非常常见的定冠词嘛，因为太过熟悉，所以反而会对这个不起眼的小词不做重视。但其实，这个词的出现对SC中的语义会有很多影响，很容易出错。特别是一些难题，会涉及一些关于“the”的特殊用法。学习掌握与the相关的小知识，对于我们排除一些易错选项非常有帮助。
the与时态
大家都知道：last week, last month，指的是上周，上个月，一般是和过去时连用，是非常常见的过去式的时间状语。比如说今天是周三，那我们说的last week指的是相对于本周来说的上一周，即上周周一 ~ 上周周日；但如果在这个词前面加了the，比如the last week，意思就变了，指的是从今天向前推7天的这段时间（即上周周四~今天这刚好一周的时间）。同样的，比如说今天是4月15日，那我们说的last month指的就是上个月，即3月1日~3月31日；但如果是the last month，指的是包括今天向前推30天的时间。而the last week，the last month表示的这种语义，通常都是和现在完成时联系在了一起：I was very busy last month. 我上个月非常忙I have been very busy the last month.我在刚刚过去的30天一直都很忙
PREP和GWD的题目中均出现过这个考点。我们来看一道典型例题。
例题1：Navigators have known for thousands of years that the ocean has variable currents, but it is only in the last half century that a reasonably clear picture has emerged of the patterns and causes of ocean currents.

E. there had emerged a reasonably clear picture of the patterns of ocean currents and their causes这一题有很多思路，平行是最常见的，这里是给大家提供一个新的视角：未画线部分的时间写的是in the last half century，表示在刚刚过去的五十年当中，所以谓语动词应该用现在完成时，因此C和E的时态都是错误的。
例题2：Less than 35 years after the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil, their descendants, popularly known as killer bees, had migrated as far north as southern Texas.
(A) Less than 35 years after the release of African honeybees outside Sao Paulo, Brazil,

The others/the other +复数名词
这里的the表示所有其他的人或者物，比如：Some students come from China; the others from Europe.一些学生来之于中国，其他剩余学生来自于欧洲。
例题3：The success of the program to eradicate smallpox has stimulated experts to pursue what they had not previously considered possible–better control, if not eradication, of the other infections such as measles and yaws.
(A)what they had not previously considered possible–better control, if not eradication, of the other infections such as
(C)something they had not previously considered possible-better control, if not eradication, of such infections as这一题的A选项用了the other infections，表示所有其他的传染病，显然意思和such as部分举例子是矛盾的。
One of 复数名词+定语从句/the (only) one of 复数名词+定语从句
通常one前面没有the，定语从句被认为修饰复数名词；如果是the one，那么定语从句修饰one，例如：She is one of the few women who have climbed the Everest.He is the only one of the boys who comes from the southern part of China.
例题4：With a new park, stadium, and entertainment complex along the Delaware River, Trenton, New Jersey, is but one of a large number of communities that is looking to use its waterfront as a way for it to improve the quality of urban life and attract new businesses.
(A)is looking to use its waterfront as a way for it to improve the quality of urban life and attract
(B)is looking at using its waterfront to improve the quality of urban life and attract
(C)are looking to use their waterfronts to improve the quality of urban life and attract这一题one前面没有the，所以that后面的动词应该用are。
