(1) “Not very.”是省略句，其完整的形式是“It’s not very heavy.”。口语中，常采用省略句，使表达更简洁明了。
例：Clear? = Is that clear? 清楚了吗？
Any problem? = Is there any problem? 还有问题吗？
Need any help? = Do you need any help? 你需要帮忙吗？
(2) 句中两个“it”都是指代前文提到的可数名词单数“bag”，避免重复啰嗦。
(3) on表示“在…表面上”
注意：坐在没有扶手的椅子上用 on the chair；坐在有扶手的椅子上用 in the chair。

(1) 句中的这些表示食物的名词都是不可数名词。不可数名词没有复数形式，也不能直接用a/an表示一个。
不可数名词表示具体数量时，常采用量词，例如：piece, bottle, loaf等。
(2) 句中一些常见的短语应记住：
a piece of 一个
a loaf of 一块
a bar of 一块
a bottle of 一瓶
a pound of 一磅
half a pound of 半磅
a quarter of a pound of 1/4磅
a tin of 一听
注意：英语中多数量词并没有固定一个中文翻译，量词的具体意思要根据所搭配的名词决定。
例：a piece of paper 一张纸
a piece of cheese 一块奶酪
a piece of china 一件瓷器
◆Is that tin of tobacco for me? Well, it’s certainly not for me!
(1) that是指示代词，指离说话者较远的事物或人。与其对应的this则指离说话者较近的事物或人。
例：This is a pen and that is a pencil. 这是一支钢笔，那是一支铅笔。
(2) certainly在句中表示“无疑、确定、肯定”，也可用于答语中表示同意。
例：—Can I come to your party? 我可以参加你的派对吗？
—Certainly. 当然可以。
